Description: This alto is one of the last variants of the original Top Hat & Cane 400, ser no 631XXX; excellent physical condition - no issues, just needs a solid rebuild. It's made with the same neck, tube, wide bottom bow, and open wide-flared bell as its forerunner. Biggest difference to earlier 400s: bell keys are left instead of back, and the simpler mechanism that goes with that. Physically the horn has just a couple of very minor issues: a slight indent under the table C# post, and the neck octave pip was resoldered - no dent work, probably it just had a leak in the original solder job. Original lacquer is 95% w/scattered light scratches and light speckling. Key plating's 95%+. Comes in a decent light gig bag that's OK for shipping and storage; but when rebuilt, the horn will deserve a good hard case. Note: shipping to Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico will be by USPS Ground Advantage, $100.
