The Viande Fork style with its long handle was adopted after various manufacturers found it easier to eat using a long handled fork. I’ve seen it used as the main dinner fork in a “Surf and Turf” menu. It can also be used as an appetizer fork. Eternally Yours was introduced in 1941. When it was introduced, it was considered leading edge since it had a pierced pattern which was new technology at the time.
