Description: A very fine disc indeed, on its own terms. This is committed music-making from these top musicians. The sound is excellent. The box and disc are in very good condition indeed. Controversy still surrounds this venture, to complete a symphony from the sketches Elgar left, and said he didn't want touching. I feel his wishes should have been respected, frankly. The result is an interesting work which, I am pretty sure, would not have ended up sounding anything like this had Elgar lived to complete it himself.
