Description: A rare gamekeepers or fisherman's catch bag- possibly late Victorian or Edwardian (Used by a Teifi angler? it was purchased within casting distance of the river). The bag has a wooden frame (Fruit wood?) which has a fold down handle with brass hinges so when not in use it takes up less room. The knotted string net bag is attached by leather strapping to the wood. There are two movable brass loops at each end - for a shoulder strap? Condition is good- one loose bit of netting, cracking to one leather attachment and six worm holes to the wood. The bag is about 47.5 cm wide, with handle raised to the bottom of the netting is 45 cm. Late 1880's to early 1900's I would think, probably British- there are no maker's marks. A wonderful hunting/shooting/fishing antique.
