Description: This is a 21” wide New Haven mantle clock with a 6” face and classic Westminster chime. Listening to this clock chime reminds me of being in my Grandparents living room as a child. I’m sure you have your own cherished memories of simpler times where fine craftsmanship was valued and proudly handed down from generation to generation. This clock in your home would stand as a testament to those hard-earned values. The clock has a note of provenance inside the back door dating original purchase at 1917 but the last copyright listed on the inside mechanics is Dec 1923, so it’s probably actually manufactured in the 20’s. This is an 8-day clock with 3 wind options. It’s made of 100 year old wood and mechanics and I am not a master clock technician. I did clean some dust away and oiled some interior workings in-place. It ticks, it chimes & keeps time correctly. The top holes allow for very slight adjustments as needed. Sturdy placement is essential. If you do not have experience with antique clocks, I highly recommend reading up on basic winding procedure and clock care. A professional clock tuning may be needed in the future to maintain workings and allow this beauty to keep time for decades to come.
