C20140~ Anthony & Scovill ANSCO No. 1 c.1904 Box Camera

Description: DESCRIPTION - Early Anthony & Scovill box camera sold through Woodward, Clarke & Co. located in Porland Oregon. Excellent example that has the original handle strap and an empty Kodak wood film spool.. The early Ansco box cameras were not marked as to model. This is the Ansco No. 1 that appears to have only available from 1904 to 1906. The camera used roll film to provide 3 ¼ x 3 ¼ inch exposures. The camera changed slightly in appearance during the two years. Because it has a nice shutter (Instantaneous & Bulb), clean & clear lens, several aperture settings, and a finder that has very good viewing, it will be great for photography if you can figure out the film need.
