Description: From 1978-1982: a lot of 8 Batman-related comics. Some great comic book creators are represented here, including Michael Golden, Denny O'Neil, Don Newton, Walt Simonson, Dick Giordano and Gil Kane. Each is complete, all staples are intact, free from rust, and holding all pages and covers together. No water damage. Minor ink transfer staining on the back covers will be common on this lot of comics. Average condition of this lot is Fine, and specific defects are called out below. In this lot you get: Batman Family #16 has a Jim Aparo cover for the Batgirl/Robin team-up in this issue "Fury of the Five-in-One Foe!" The highlight of this issue however is a Man-Bat solo story with artwork by Michael Golden. Fine Plus condition: mild ink transfer visible on the white border areas of the back cover. Batman #303 has two Batman stories "The Great Identify Switch" and "If Justice Be Served." The latter story is written by Denny O'Neil and penciled by Michael Golden. Jim Aparo drew the cover. Fine Minus condition: spine wear, including a bit of color loss due to abrasion. Mild ink transfer on the back cover. There is a small 1/4 inch tear near the lower right-hand corner of the back cover. Batman #306 has a Jim Aparo cover for Gerry Conway's story "Night of Siege" featuring the return of the Black Spider. The second story in this issue is an Unsolved Cases of Batman with some of the earliest Don Newton Batman artwork. Fine Minus condition: more than typical ink transfer staining on the white border areas of the back cover. Batman #312 Walt Simonson and Dick Giordano draw the cover and provide the interior artwork for Len Wein's script "A Caper a Day Keeps the Batman at Bay!" Simonson gets to design multiple Calendar Man costumes for this story, and includes a teaser for Two-Face on the last page. Fine condition: mild ink transfer visible on the white border areas of the back cover, extending to the white strip running down the front cover spine. Note the tiny "M" written in red ink at the upper left-hand corner of the back cover. Batman #325 features "Death-- Twenty Stories High" written by Roger McKenzie, penciled by Irv Novick & inked by Steve Mitchell. Jim Aparo drew the cover. Fine condition: color-break midway up the spine. Midway along the lower edge is an approximately 1 inch line of color loss (not a crease). Batman #327 features a Joe Kubert cover for Len Wein's story "Asylum Sinister." Interior art is by the team of Irv Novick & Frank McLaughlin. The second story in this issue co-stars Batman and Robin in a story written by Mike W. Barr and drawn by Dick Giordano & Steve Mitchell. Fine Minus condition: color-breaking crease at the lower right-hand corner of the front cover. Lower left corner of the front cover is abraded. Another crease can be seen at the lower left-hand corner of the back cover. Batman #328 sports a Joe Kubert cover for the Marv Wolfman story "Double Jeopardy," with art again by Novick & McLaughlin. The second story in this issue is "A Tale of Time Past" also written by Wolfman, with art by Don Newton & Kim DuMuldur. Fine / Very Fine condition: spine stress lines, particularly about 2 inches down from the upper left-hand corner. On the back cover is a tiny tear on the left-hand edge, about 3 inches up from the lower left-hand corner. Some minor ink transfer as seen on the back cover scan. Detective Comics #520 has a Jim Aparo cover for Gerry Conway's story "The Haunting of Boss Thorne" with artwork by the team of Don Newton & Alfredo Alcala. There is a Catwoman solo story in this issue with Gil Kane art. As well, there is a Masters of the Universe preview that ran in many DC Comics this month. Very Good Plus condition: color-breaking spine stress lines, color-breaking creases at the lower right-hand corner of the front cover and the lower left-hand corner of the back cover. There is a tiny tear mid-way up the left-hand edge of the back cover. Please check out my other items, as multiple comics can ship at no additional postage cost.
