Description: Vitreous China Keystone Pottery ToiletWith Rustic Pine J.G. Sweetser Wall-Hung Tank This setup is in relatively nice mechanical and cosmetic condition, given its approximate age of 114 years. It has just received some attention and now looks very nice compared to when we acquired it. The tank was painted gray and this was stripped, the wood sanded, and then it was stained. There is still a littlepaint to be found in small tight spots, and when removing the paint from the left side the inscription "J.G. SweetserPortsmouth, N.H." was discovered. This side retained slightly more of the paint than the rest, as we didn't want toremove the words. The wood on the front, back, sides and bottom is all in good shape with no rot or damage found. The contents of the tank were removed, inspected and corrosion was removed. All pieces, along with the interior ofthe tank, were then given multiple applications of clear coat to keep them looking as they do now. There were a coupleof things found within the tank to point out. The cross piece at the very top that moves when the chain is pulled has corrodedwhere it meets the tank on one side, causing a screw hole to not be "complete" (hard to explain) The two screws that holdthat piece on and the ones next to it were replaced and now both are very stable, so there is now no issue there. The otherarea is the fact that an approximately 6" pipe will need to be replaced. What is there now is only a spacer used for the pictures. This piece is pointed out. The arm moves up and down and opens and closes the drain properly, and the copper float is invery good condition and functions as it should. The pull chain and handle are in excellent shape. The metal was shined up,and the Oak handle was sanded and stained. The pipe running down to the toilet is good overall with no issues. The toilet looks nice from all angles, with very few blemishes to be found. After a close inspection, it was revealed that virtuallyall of the tiny discolored spots found were imperfections from the manufacturing process. The only area found to point out arethe two rear "corners". They both have hairline cracks that have been there for ages and are not visible when a seat is installed. The rest of the top surface is very good and the entire outside of the piece is in fine shape with no cracks, chips or crazing found. The interior of the bowl has a couple light discolored spots that may be removable with more effort, and the rest is good. Themetal pieces that wrap over the toilet base edge to secure the pipe are secure, but all have corroded, causing them to not be whatthey once were. The pipe is nice and solid overall. Originally it was a combination of porcelain is some places, but not others, wall paint and surface rust. The surface was cleaned up with a wire brush and all parts up to the toilet were painted black to cleanup the appearance. The inside of the pipe, viewed from the bottom shows some corrosion that does not look bad, and as can be seen, the bottom has not been touched. All is included save for the old door with tank brackets that was originally used as the back wall. Please see the pictures for further details. ~ Dimensions ~Tank (box only): 18.5" wide, 9.5" deep & 10" tallToilet Depth (from wall, as pictured): 23"Toilet Total Width (with pipe): 18"Bowl: 12" deep & 9.5" wideSeat Rim Height: 14.75"Total Height: 70" ◕ Free Fast US shipping ◕◕ Sent out within 48 hours of payment ◕◕ 100% satisfaction is guaranteed with a no hassle return policy ◕◕ Returns gladly accepted if not pleased based on description & photos ◕
