Description: Rare Victorian hand mirror The top has an intricate molded design of flowers and scrolls which appears on the back of the face as well as the handle. The beveled mirror side also has the elaborate detail on the handle. Just at the top of the handle this piece is marked “s” inside of a diamond shape". The mirror frame is probably made of gutta percha. This is a natural rigid latex thermo plastic material popular in the 1800's The mirror measures approximately 9 5/8 “ and about 4" wide at the widest part of the oval mirror section. It is very solid . There is , of course, Age wear to the glass.
