Description: This listing is for a Antique Rifle Bayonet 20” Blade Mystery bayonet. It is 23” overall roughly, with a roughly 1” wide bore to fit the rifle barrel. It is marked in multiple places: Marked 1850 (scratched out) -176- then -649 by the blade. It is also marked 6L.1B , 10.21. By the base connector. The bridge of the blade also has two (possibly three one may be worn) very small hallmarks, consisting of a K & I. A very unusual length & design, which I have not been able to find much out about. It may be late colonial, between colonial & civil war, or civil war era / shortly following. I personally think it to be a possible confederate bayonet- but I am not an expert regarding bayonets. May have been made in Europe for US import. Great for collectors of military, antique arms, and many others. The design is excellent for many rooms and a large variety of decor styles- to be framed in a shadowbox or hung as is. It makes this an excellent staple piece for your collection, one your friends definitely won’t have! A great collectors item, for use display gifting or decor. It is in good condition, with no major damage. Has some typical wear but this is NOT ONE THAT WAS DUG UP- much better condition than average. Could be shined up, or left as is with natural patina. Thank you for your consideration, I appreciate your time. Reasonable offers always appreciated. Comes as shown, please see photos for details and measurements. Comes insured in shipment, packed with care.
