Description: Please read all of the description. Offered today is this Beautiful, Fairly rare, not a reproduction, this is the real thing from the 1870's- 1880's Mercury reflecting light. I put 1900 on the age because it went no earlier than that. A lot of the early bracket lamps had a hole in the steel behind the light to slide the peg on the back of the mercury glass into. If the hole was a little big like in the case off the last hole this one was in they just put a little bit of tape around the peg to make it larger so it would set into the hole tightly. These more than quadrupled the amount of light coming out of the oil lamp. They made reproductions but this is the real thing I always start my items at a low price so everyone has an equal chance. I hope you prefer it this way so one can have the excitement of an auction and a chance to get it for a lot less. Also if one really had to have it they could bid high enough to get it where as if someone puts down something like $99.95, the first one to get there and wants it, they are the one who gets it and you do not stand a chance at it. That is another reason I put it on for 7 days so most everyone interested in reflector like this, has a chance to see it. I charge exactly what it costs me for shipping. My return policy is that weather or not I described it correctly or you just didn't like it once you received it I will pay round trip shipping plus pay you at least $5.00 for your trouble. No one on eBay has such a return policy. I am only starting this off at 4.00 even though it is worth much more.I am trying to make your purchase as pleasant & care free as possible. I always combined shipping. I have never put in a reserve price. Thank you for looking, Stephen.
