Kestner 20" Doll w/Full Nun's Habit- All Bisque, Mohair Wig Beautiful character German doll dressed as a nun, Kestner head mold #260.Size: about 18" I haven't been able to determine the age. Kestner's all bisque dolls go way back to 1860.Marked on head: Made in Germany J.D.K. 260 plus 'Made in Germany 48 on the bottom of the neck. Marked on body: "Made in Germany 63", stamped in red ink.Fine quality poured bisque head Sleeping eyes with original eyes mechanism, four glass teeth. She has carton dome and original fabric wig cap, that is still under the nuns cowl, so it's been protected. Though it appears squished down, it's in rare condition.Original Kestner body with all original body finish in excellent condition. The outfit may have been an addition but just might be original. There are some pins and safety pins involved.She has a complicated outfit with all the details of a nuns habit some that you wouldn't even know were there unless you were educated in the old school Catholic way of doing things.
