Description: Antique Germany 14/0 Bisque Head Mache Body Glass Sleep Eyes Mohair Wig 6" Doll. This listing is for an adorable bisque socket head doll, with mignonette style slim body, measuring approximately 6” tall, jointed at the neck, hips and shoulders. She has beautiful blue glass sleep eyes, which can open and close, hand painted lashes and eyebrows, pink full lips, open mouth with 4 tiny white teeth, pink blush on the cheeks, and a nice brown mohair wig.This little doll comes dressed in a red and white polka dot dress trimmed with tiny white lace and white cotton under garments.She has molded and painted brown heeled shoes, and molded and painted white socks. The doll is marked on the back of her head: Germany 14/0.Company unidentified. The doll closely resembles Simon & Halbig dolls of the period. Condition: Sold as is, as shown. Please view all photos for details. The doll's stringing is very tight. Her hair needs some attention: at some point of time in the past, to make her wig look fuller, a piece of new hair was glued to one side. It has a slightly different tone of brown and needs more curls, in my opinion. I also want to note of a faint line on her head above the 14/0 number, it appears to be just a molding line to me. Since all of her clothing is sewn on, I could only inspect the doll's torso by touch and could not feel any damage. She has no visible chips or cracks, all her fingers are good.The doll's facial features are lovely. Overall, this is a charming little German doll that would be a fine addition to any antique doll collection.
