Authentic Antique 1700's French Rococo Furniture Hardware Four (4) ElegantFRENCH BRONZE ORMOLU Furniture MountsApproximate Size: 1 3/8" high x 3" longFoundry or Casting Mark on the back: Capital "R" These four furniture mounts were removed from a circa 1735 French armoire.There is a capital "R" incised into the back of each mount. I do not know if this is a foundry mark or a reference to the craftsman who poured the mount.When they were removed, it was discovered that one of them was actually in two pieces. These were originally gilded using mercury. There has been some loss of the gold over the last 288 years since they were gilded. They have been cleaned using an ultrasound immersion bath. Otherwise they are in their original condition. Please review the photographs carefully! This listing is for four (4) 18th Century French Furniture Mounts.
