Description: Antique brass andirons in the Federal style said to have come from the Colorado Governor's Mansion. 24 1/2 inches tall, 11 inches wide at the foot, 17 1/2 inches deep. Weight of pair is 12 lbs 8 oz. These was acquired by us from the estate of a local collector who almost made the century mark. He stated that the andirons and the accompanying fire fender (which has been sold as of 4/14/24) had come from the Colorado governor's mansion. Given his age we do not know if this meant Boettcher Mansion which has served as the Colorado governor's residence since 1960 or the previous residence. We have worked with the governor's residence staff and History Colorado to identify the fender and andirons and this is an ongoing process though History Colorado does not have record of these particular items since the time they began cataloging the Boettcher residential collection meaning these would have been acquired before that. We have no reason to question the veracity of the aged collector's statement as he spent considerable time in Colorado. In good condition with some spotting which can be removed by polishing. We do not polish antiques and leave that to the purchaser. The left andiron is slightly out of true vertical. The andirons will be disassembled for shipment though size and weight will incur significant shipping charges. We offer two shipping options for this item as depending on your location one may be notably less than the other.
