The fort was a star-shaped log fortress erected in the summer of 1758. Here, a local hotel, the Fort Beford Inn, had 75 rom with 25 baths, another 100 with 40. In any event, building has since been repurposed to a property WHICH has received funding in part through the Section 515 Rural Rental Housing (Section 515) program. Very low-, low-, and moderate-income families, elderly persons, and persons with disabilities are eligible to live at this property.
