Description: Adolf Wislizenus, Waltershausen, Thuringia, Germany, AW Special Dolly Face 23" with the fully ball-jointed composition body and bisque socket head. From Alice's incredible collection, she is a sturdy doll in wonderful condition and may have some repaint to her body. Her bisque head, possibly made by Ernst Heubach is flawless with no hairlines or chips. She has large blue glass paperweight sleep eyes in good working order, hand painted feathered brows and features, chubby cheeks and an open mouth with porcelain upper teeth. She is wearing an antique white cotton collared dress with lace accents, blue straw flowered hat, antique thigh high cotton socks, ivory leather laced shoes and an antique cotton body suit. Her wig shows some wear and is likely human hair and as she was missing her pate, a new one has been added. She is a fabulous stand out addition to any good collection as Wislizenus dolls are relatively rare and she is completely ready for immediate display.
