Description: AGAVE FERDINANDI REGIS (maybe hybrid with A. lechuguilla) This auction is a young Agave fendinandi regis that is approximately 6-8" in diameter and height. I estimate this size plant to be 3 to 4 years old. The dwarf parent plant came from Peckerwood Garden Conservancy in Texas and at 9 years old, it is 24" tall and 32" wide. This is an excellent size for a lovely specimen plant for many gardens. It was labeled as I stated but my plants do NOT have the white marking across the back of the leaves. The pattern is defintiely on the leaves but they're not white. Research indicates that this might be a hybrid with Agave lechuguilla. It's interesting to read the history of this agave and how it was brought back to Europe from Mexico a few hundred years ago. I also have other sizes for sale in other auctions. This is a very hardy agave that does great living outdoors in zone 8b. Easy to grow because it is drought and cold tolerant. There will be shipped bare rooted and should do just fine in shipping. The shipping cost is my actual cost and I always combine shipping on plants so please ask.
