Description: 4896. Four circa 1900 black and white postcards showing scenes of Deering, New Hampshire. Three are "PRIVATE MAILING CARDS Authorized by Act of Congress of May 19, 1898." All cards have undivided backs and all were mailed to the same person in 1906. The three Private Mailing Cards are slightly narrower than a standard size postcard. (3-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches). Captions for the PMC's are: Church, Post Office and Store, and Reservoir. The larger standard size card (3-1/2 x 5-1/2 inches) has orange lettering on its back. No maker given. This card shows a view of "Deering Village" with the Church in the upper left. All cards mailed in 1906. All have writing on front side. Minor corner wear and album marks, age tanning. Very Good condition. Patience is needed during these troubling times.
