It was found by the McKay family in a mine owned by his father. It was named after some Hyacinth flowers growing in his mother’s garden and the mineral was the same colours so thought it would be an appropriate name. It can only be found in this one mine which makes the mineral so rare and similar to the Tiffany Stone in terms of the colour shades. Hyacinth Jasper is a mesmerizing mineral that has gorgeous purple, maroon, grey-blue and white coloring throughout.
