Description: For sale is a Large Awesome 1987 Mike Tyson TYPE 1 Original Photo. In this awesome action shot you see Tyson battling Tyrell Biggs in what was called "The Clash For The Crown". Biggs was a Super Heavy Weight Gold Medalist who was trying to take all of Tyson's belts. Tyson became the first Heavyweight to hold all three major belts (WBA, WBC & IBF) all at the same time. He would defend his belts against Biggs with a TKO in the 7th round. This fight would catch the attention of a newer gaming system called Nintendo (NES), To create one of the greatest games of all time, "Mike Tyson's Punch Out". This photo was taken by photographer Gerald Lodriguss from the Philadelphia Inquirer. There is a form filled out on the backside where this photo was being nominated for the National Headliner Awards under the "Outstanding Sports Photography" category. The National Headliners Awards is one of the largest Press Clubs honoring journalalist Merit in the communication industry going all-the-way back to 1934. This photo has been Mounted to a Cabinet for their submission. Usually third party verification companies like PSA won't authenticate Cabinet Photos if your into that, but in this case one of the corners will lift up from the cabinet where they can review the paper stock to show the paper is authentic to the 1980's and that this is not a later digital copy. The Size is 11 x 14 inches and is in Good Condition. There are heavy wrinkles in this photo due to being glued to a mount. As well with a couple really small stains and glue smudges. This is truly a early gorgeous shot from one of my favorite boxers to lace up the gloves.
