Leading her little child and carrying a can with food and something to drink, a deep-veiled Pakistani woman walks to a train in Dacca, Bangladesh 12/28 to accompany her POW husband to confinement in an Indian camp, as the first of nearly 35,000 Pakistani prisoners of war held in Dacca since the surrender of East Pakistan began moving out by trains. The Pakistani prisoners, more than 90,000 were taken in East Pakistan, so far have been enjoying a relaxed confinement. Surrounded by a hostile Bengali population, there was little fear of their escaping and they have been under only light guard. Photo is Dated: January 3, 1972.
