Description: 1950s Alamo Texan solid body guitar with original case. Here's a rare gem straight out of 1950s San Antonio, Texas and the wild beginnings of Rock N' Roll! This is a seldom-seen model from the early days of the company, somewhat similar to a Harmony Stratotone, and possibly Alamo's answer to the bolt-on neck Fender guitars of the time. The guitar appears to be all original and shows the typical play wear of a 60+ year-old instrument, but nothing that affects its playability. At some point, someone added stick-on letters to the side of the neck for note identification—take a look and see how helpful you think they are! The original pickup is the real highlight of this guitar, sounding huge, hot, and lively. The original frets show some wear but remain playable. While it doesn't play as smoothly as a modern PRS, it is far from a wall hanger and plays considerably better than most catalog guitars from the same era. The opaque white finish is very Fender-esque. All hail weird guitars that sound better than they should!
