Description: Handsome fold-out 1950 Conoco road map of Wyoming, printed more than 72 years ago. The map opens to 18" x 26½" and has great detail on highway alignments, with cartography by H.M. Gousha. There are inset plans of Sheridan, Laramie, Casper, Cheyenne, Yellowstone National Park, and Ogden, Utah. The map was distributed by the Continental Oil Company in 1950 and is dated by the code number in the lower margin: 9-X. Population data is from the 1940 census. The code number on the back cover is 12492. Small triangles on the map locate Conoco service stations throughout the state. Condition: The paper has softened slightly, and the map is in very good, lightly used condition, with some minor scuffs and wrinkles. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions.
