Description: Up for auction is an beautiful feldpost censored cover from Luft Stalag 1, in Barth, Germany from a British Army Air Force airman prisoner of war at the officers POW camp named Senior British Officer to British Red Cross In London england . Not Postmarked or Dated . The cmap was liberated by Russian troops on April 30, 1945. In excellent condition which is unusual for POW mail. Priced to sell. Nice postal history cover. Note that this is a Feldpost cover with no postage affixed which was remoevd by camp censors. Very rare because POW mail was entitled to be sent free of postage. Great cancels and POW camp and censorship markings. Very rare to see POW mail this late in the war, note that it had uprated airmail postage, stamp was removed by censors looking for messages, which is very rare during wartime since ship mail was free. Very, very rare to see airmail letters from POWs during WW 2. Exceptionally rare piece of postal history.
