The ship, docked on the Brooklyn side of the East River, caught fire, it is believed, when a fuel line broke spilling oil over the engine room, and was ignited by a spark. More than 200 firemen battled the flames in extremely cold weather. Photo measures 7 x 9 inches. Photo Is dated 1939.
