The Reverend Cutler and a group of pioneers set out from Ipswich in 1787 to their destination in what is now Marietta, Ohio in the Great Northwest Territory. This journey of 150 years later, sponsored by the Northwest Territory Celebration Commission, will follow the 2,800 mile route of the pioneers. The 36 explorers selected are all from the United States. They will present at their nightly stops, at Fort Devens, Ayers, Massachusetts. They are under contract with the United States government to serve one year at a dollar per day and will receive a $100 bonus at the end of the trip. Shown is David W.
