Description: 1930s Ludwig Solid Shell Snare Drum Size : 6.5 x 14 Finish : Lavender Pearl A beautiful 1930s Ludwig 6.5 x 14 solid shell snare drum rewrapped in era original Lavender Pearl wrap. It's likely the wrap was harvested from a bass drum (performed by a previous owner). The rewrapped job performed was done very well, with edges of the wrap neatly finished the to edge of the bearing edge (appearing not not have ever recut edges.) The placement of the seam sits offset between the butt plate and adjacent lug. Typically seams were placed centered between tube lugs, one panel over from the butt plate. In addition, the grommet (while placed very well), Isn't flanged at the interior of the shell, probably cut shorter upon badge reinstall. The wrap has a couple of small splits at a lug mounting hole (see photo). Otherwise, the appearance of the wrap is an exceptional example of a representation of this rare Lavender Pearl wrap. The hardware includes a P338 strainer, 8 nickel over brass clips, nickel butt plate, nickel single flanged hoops, and 8 nickel tube lugs (1 which is a slightly a different design in close detail and appears near the same age). Interior of the shell has the more square reinforcement ring profile, indicating a 30s shell. The date has been mostly rubbed from the shell. Overall a very beautiful drum in a more rare size and wrap example. Listing and template services provided by inkFrog
