All lots in this auction came from the Historic McGreevy’s Sports Bar in Boston Massachusetts. These items were hanging or displayed in the bar until the closure of the bar in 2020. All items in this sale are copies from the original archives from the Boston Public Library unless noted in the description as "original" This historic photo is ideal for the office or the “man cave” of that Red Sox fan. I acquired this photo (and about 80 others) from the Historic McGreevy's Sports Bar in Boston Massachusetts. These items were hanging or displayed in the bar until the closure of the bar in 2020. All items in this sale are copies from the original archives from the Boston Public Library. McGreevy’s 3rd street pub first opened in 1894 by Michael T. "Nuf Ced" McGreevy. And was closed first at the start of the prohibition. At this time the Boston public library acquired most of the photos and artwork that lined the walls of what was known as America’s first sports bar. when the club later reopened the clubs owner was able to copy the original photos held by the Boston public library…As a result these images are very rare as they where not reproduced commercially.
