Description: 1900s 1910s 1920s Car Lap Blanket. Heavy two layer wool construction. Outer layer is a fairly rare leopard print with two wide red stripes. Underside is solid purple. Bound edges with blanket tape. Could be for an antique open car or carriage from the 1920s or earlier. No makers tag, but consistent with Stroock blankets. Excellent condition for something well over 100 years old. A few discolored spots on the purple side, one 1/2" worn area on the printed side. Very structurally sound and virtually no moth damage. Faded areas in center of pattern are intentionally printed on and not wear to the item. Wool is very scratchy; meant for warmth in an open vehicle, not for cuddling on the couch. Would be an excellent prop for an old car or carriage on the blanket rail. Please see photos for condition.
