18TH CENTURY CHERRY CARVED CANOPY FOUR POSTER FULL SIZE ANTIQUE TESTER BED

Description: FINELY CARVED CHERRY 18TH CENTURY CONNECTICUT RIVER VALLEY ANTIQUE TESTER BED Bay Colony Antiques takes the highest praise & compliments to offer you this fabulous 18th century tall four poster carved cherry canopy bed from the Connecticut River Valley. It has been converted from a rope foundation bed in the rails to serve as a full sized bed but requires custom sized bedding. This is a fantastic bed with exceptionally well carved tall posts each having reed, cross hatched and rope carvings. The posts are 78 1/2" tall. It is 83" long and 54 1/2" wide. Its between the rails measurements are 76 1/2" X 52 1/2". We acquired it with only a standard full sized mattress stuffed into the rails and it worked very well it's only 1 1/2" off the width of standard full sized bedding. But we have to note its correct sizing. We sell a ton of beds and our personal recommendation would be to have a rabbit edge box spring made by your local mattress maker. This scares a lot of people off but in reality it's only $50 more than a traditional box spring. A rabbit edge box spring would sit flush over the rails and then the full size mattress can sit right atop. This bed is a perfect candidate to convert to queen or king size by our woodworker the famed Steve Rice of Western Massachusetts. This bed can be broken down into single components for ease of shipping & moving. Once our antique beds are converted to larger sizes its value goes up three fold but the work can be be done for a 1/3rd of that price. We ask that you come ready to transport your purchase by having ample pads or blankets to protect your item in transit. We are not a storage facility. We are happy to hold your items for a reasonable pre-agreed upon period. Beyond or absent any specified contract a $50.00 dollar per week storage fee will apply.
