Topographical features are very well noted and towns, cities, railroads (with every stop noted), mountains, the “Texas Mining District” (Lemhi County), “Silver and Copper Mines” (Custer County) and water routes are identified. Indian Reservations are also located. A very detailed view of Idaho in the 1890’s. Original map about 120 years old, not a reproduction - in nice condition as shown in the photos. It comes with a certificate of authenticity. “Rand, McNally & Co. specialized in filling the great demand for maps & guidebooks occasioned by the westward expansion of the U. S. in the 2nd half of the 19th century... Their maps were constantly updated with new information and thus serve as an eloquent witness to the westward march of railroads, settlements, and counties as the frontier disappeared."
