Volumes II and III from a three volume set. Each volume contains four parts, volume II (parts V-VIII) and volume III (parts IX-XII). Volume II features a tissue-guarded coloured frontispiece. Volume II and III both contain 21 plates, several of which are in colour. With numerous illustrations in the text. The original paper wraps for each part have been bound in at the rear of each volume. CONDITION In cloth bindings. Externally, smart with just some shelfwear and sunning to the spines. Internally, firmly bound. Bright and clean with just the odd spot or mark. Ex Nottingham Public Library copy, with an institutional label to the front pastedown of volume II (and a torn label to volume III) and stamps to several pages including the plates. Previous repair to a tear down one of the paper wraps of volume II.
