Must be sent flat-packed, hence the shipping cost. Very Good to Good condition. Seemingly trimmed just within the plate mark, but reasonable margins retained. Light dust and handling marks to margins. Three closed tears to bottom margin, but outside the image area. Small closed tear to left margin, just touching image area. The three-quarter-length portrait, shows Bentinck standing, turned to left and looking to right. His right hand is resting on papers on a table with an inkstand, while in his left hand he holds a roll of papers. In the left background is the base of a column. Lord William George Frederick Cavendish-Scott-Bentinck (1802-1848), better known as Lord George Bentinck, was an English Conservative politician and racehorse owner noted for his role (with Benjamin Disraeli) in unseating Sir Robert Peel over the Corn Laws.
