Description: Presented is a fine quality Danish silver creamer. The creamer has a classic design with threaded trim on the base, rim, and handle and a band of leaf and berry decoration around the body. The handle has a long elegant curve and the side profile is very attractive. The long sweeping spout helps to balance this piece. Although this piece is 200 plus years old it almost has a contemporary feel. The band of decoration has an Arts & Crafts sensibility to it. Very much like the work of Liberty of London, or some members of the Glasgow school or similar to work done in the United States by Arthur Stone. The creamer has an elegant gold wash on the interior, which is completely intact. This piece does not appear to be re-gilded. Everything appears original. The creamer is hallmarked on the underside with a city mark for Copenhagen with an 18 below for the date 1818, an assay master’s mark, a maker’s mark, and a Scorpio zodiac sign. I am not sure who the maker is. The Danish city mark guarantees a silver purity of at least .826. The condition is excellent. There are no dents, no dings, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals, no breaks, and no repairs. The creamer measures 5 3/4 inches wide from handle to spout and 5 1/8 inches tall. The weight is 182.5 grams or 6.4 ounces. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
