Description: Luxor Las Vegas is a casino hotel situated at the southern end of the bustling Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. Owned by Vici Properties and managed by MGM Resorts International, this resort showcases a theme inspired by ancient Egypt. It boasts a sprawling 65,214-square-foot casino and offers 4,407 hotel rooms. The resort's iconic pyramid, standing 30 stories tall, houses the world's largest atrium by volume, encompassing a staggering 29 million cubic feet. At the pyramid's pinnacle, a powerful light beam shines into the night sky, holding the title of the most intense man-made light on the planet. Originally developed by Circus Circus Enterprises, the Luxor was constructed at a cost of $375 million. Construction kicked off on April 21, 1992, and the resort officially opened its doors on October 15, 1993, featuring 2,526 rooms at its inception. The Luxor is often regarded as a quintessential example of 1990s Postmodern architecture, with its sphinx gracing the cover of architecture scholar James Steele's book, Architecture Today. The resort has made numerous appearances in films, such as Showgirls (1995), Synthetic Pleasures (1996), and Mars Attacks! (1996). In the movie Up in the Air (2009), the main character, Ryan Bingham, is requested to snap a photo in front of the Luxor. Additionally, a futuristic and deserted version of the pyramid appears in Blade Runner 2049 (2017), alongside other renowned landmarks in a dystopian Las Vegas. Will Smith chose the hotel's lobby and the area in front of its sphinx as the filming locations for his music video "Gettin' Jiggy wit It" (1998). The resort has also been spotlighted in television shows like Fear Factor, Criss Angel Mindfreak, and CSI. In the video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (2004), a replica of the Luxor, humorously named "The Camel's Toe," is featured in the Las Venturas area. Furthermore, the video game Call of Duty: Ghosts (2013) includes a mission set in Las Vegas, featuring an Egyptian-themed casino inspired by the Luxor. Luxor Las Vegas stands as an enduring symbol of architectural ingenuity and cultural impact, leaving its mark on various forms of media and popular culture. =========================================================== PLEASE READ REGARDING CONDITION AND BUSINESS BLAH BLAH BLAH: Casino chips and Vegas Vintage collectibles are my passion. While I enjoy selling these collectibles, I also love to pass on the enjoyment and passion for this amazing hobby to young and old alike. My home is Las Vegas and I enjoy learning the colorful history of this unique place! Please look closely at the photographs. Unless you see the words "stock photo," then the picture is of the item you will receive. When I am selling multiples of an item, it will be a photo of one of the items, and not necessarily the item you will receive, but will be a photo of a chip in the inventory. I guarantee you that you will receive a chip of the same or even better quality. I am a member of the Casino Collectibles Association (#R-9282) and am held to a high standard as a member. None of my chips have been professionally graded (except by me) but I am careful to take lots of pictures so you know exactly what you are getting. I use The Chip Rack condition rating system, and I price in accordance with the Chip Rack Price Guide, 22nd edition (SSS publishing and available on at: www.thechiprack.com) criteria, and also current market conditions. I try very hard to remain competitive with my prices. All my individual chips come in a protective coin case so there will be no damage. I have attempted to give accurate information regarding condition and to disclose any defects, stains, etc. I take plenty of pictures to give you an accurate idea of condition. Please look at the pictures! I typically take side 1, side 2, edge and in protective case pictures. My own personal condition rating is what you see, and it’s based upon the Casino Collectibles Association rating system (New, Slightly Used, Average, Well-Used and Poor). Keep in mind that the condition is in the eyes of the collector, so look closely at the photographs. If you are unhappy with a chip, I will refund your purchase price upon return. MY SHIPPING POLICY IS VERY SIMPLE: I ship by USPS Ground Advantage. If I receive payment by noon Las Vegas time the shipment will go out that day. If payment received after that time it will be shipped the next business day, Saturday & Sunday or NOT BUSINESS DAYS. NOTE: I DO combine shipping on casino chip orders. Full postage for first chip, discount for each additional chip purchased at the same time. If EBay doesn't deduct postage, I will give you a refund on the extra postage. Please note, I am OCD careful with packing and shipping. All items come in bubble envelopes with bubble wrap or cardboard protectors. It costs a bit more to send, but I find it is worth it to take care. I use EBay calculated shipping, so your postage is collected by EBay and is based on your location. I make money on the product NOT on the shipping! If for any reason you are not happy with any item(s) you receive please contact me via EBAY messages. I will do my best to fix any problem, will refund your purchase price upon return of the item. Please take a look at my store for more great casino chips.
